( the pond isn't exactly made for swimming but there's nothing about it that tells him otherwise. it's just a pond for show with some lilypads, a few water creatures, and the occasional birds spending time in the water. but gods, does it look welcoming, especially on a day like this. )
[ yuri laughs as finn's arm comes back to him, gently taking one of the towels from him to drape it over his own shoulder. if any of the servants give any indication that they have an idea of what's about to happen, they don't make any note of it, though some of them frown questioningly at yuri as they walk by.
odd. maybe they're just so used to the heat they're confused by his fan.
a delighted little gasp escapes yuri as the pond comes into view and he peels away from finn in order to do a little jog closer, peering down into the water at a couple of fish that come over, drawn by his shadow being cast over the water. ]
Oh, it does look refreshing, doesn't it?
[ he sets the towel down a bit further back from the edge of the water before he sets about removing his shoes. ]
( finn drapes his towel gingerly over a bush as yuri rushes toward the water's edge. it's a well-manicured area, but the team has managed to make it look like a pond one might come across in a fairytale, somewhere deep in the woods. )
It looks magical, doesn't it? ( he hums, plopping onto the ground next to yuri to begin taking his shoes off as well. his shirt comes off next, leaving him in his undershirt and feeling a little embarrassed upon the realization that this is the most amount of skin they've shown each other.
though if the servants didn't say anything to them, it can't be all that bad? people are probably just happy they're getting along so well. fumbling with the button, finn begins to undo his pants as well. )
[ yuri's mid-taking off his own shirt when he feels finn lose his. by the time the fabric is gone from in front of his own face he can see arms, what he's been holding on to as they roam the estate for a few weeks now, and he can't help but stare for a beat too long before he looks away again, flushing even hotter than he was already.
it'd look weird if he started to fan himself harder than he has been all day, but he really feels like he needs to.
yuri steadfastly keeps his eyes on his own clothing as he finishes disrobing, down to nothing but his underthings, the shirt sticking to his chest from the sweat across his skin. he casts just the quickest look toward finn before he very quickly makes his way to the water's edge and, without hesitation, plunges himself into the water.
the cold shock comes as more of a surprise than it probably should have, but the relief is instant. yuri lets out a quiet, pleased noise as he wades into the water, splashing it up onto his arms. ]
( finn shimmies out of his pants, trying to talk himself out of feeling sheepish and shy. it's not like him to overthink everything and, he was the one who suggested they come out here in the first place!
pushing himself to his feet, he stands there, gawkish and pigeon-toed, and watches yuri take the plunge first, too slow to have gotten a glimpse of his frame outside of the clothes he had been wearing. a big smile forms on his face and he instantly feels envious that yuri's gotten some heat relief. time for finn to follow suit.
shimmying slightly to motivate himself, he eventually plugs his nose and ( gently, so as not to unsettle yuri or the creatures living under the surface ) launches himself into the water. slowly, he opens his eyes to watch the little bubbles float to the surface around him, encountering a particularly curious koi fish before it swam away. his feet touch the dirt beneath before he pushes himself up to breathe in the fresh air again. )
[ yuri is positively beaming at finn when he finally resurfaces, his own toes brushing along the bottom to keep his head and shoulders above water. finn looks good, all soaking wet, and yuri is overcome with an incredibly strong urge to get closer, to run his fingers over wet skin, to brush back damp locks of hair.
but he stays where he is, grinning, and eventually sends a small cascade of water in finn's direction as he splashes at him. ]
See? Isn't that immediately better?
[ and yuri turns a bit, kicking his legs up until he's floating on his back, arms spread out to his sides as he basks in sunlight no longer trying to cook him alive. ]
( finn scrunches his face, pulling his shoulders up as some weak defense when yuri splashes him. and he giggles helplessly, shaking his hair out like a wet dog would before combing his bangs away from his face. they've been enjoying each other's company, but not like this, not until this very moment.
as yuri floats across the pond, finn doggy paddles alongside him, his chin and sometimes the full bottom half of his face dipping into the water. yuri looks so nice like this, and finn lets himself believe that he might just be at home. as close to home as he can get after being whisked away from where he'd grown up. )
Much better, ( he replies softly, eyes sparkling with mirth. )
M-maybe it's because we're out here, but you smell different, ( finn adds innocently. ) I don't what it could be! Maybe you're even more comfortable now.

[ still, he lifts a hand from the water and sniffs at his own wrist, humming thoughtfully. it's... stronger, isn't it? sweeter. ]

Yuri, ( finn giggles, reddening as he often does when yuri flirts with him. he can't say he's uncomfortable with it, especially as he rubs the warm back of his neck afterward before dunking his entire body in the water to cool himself down again. when he emerges, his bangs are stuck to his face, semi-breaking the spell of his exposed forehead. )

the next time yuri inhales he feels it. an ache rises inside of him, piercing through him like a knife, and he lets out a sharp cry as he falls forward. his forehead lands on finn's shoulder, hand dropping down into the water to wrap around his middle and that's when everything comes rushing at him at once: being unusually hot, even for an already hot day; the looks the staff were giving him; the increased potency of his scent, strong enough that even finn's beta nose can pick it up through the water... ]

[ yuri drapes his towel around his shoulders and hauls himself upward, crawling toward finn's offered back. his hands land heavily on finn's shoulders as he climbs upward, chest finally pressed fully against his back and legs dangling around his waist. yuri turns his head and presses his face into finn's neck so he can inhale deeply.
he feels better, in that moment. still not good by any sense of the imagination, but better. yuri's body releases some of its tension and he starts to purr, softly, face still buried against finn's neck. ]

( without their approval, finn trudges into the bathroom, followed by a couple of people already mopping the floor up behind him. he'll have to get cleaned up himself, but that's for finn later.
with a small grunt, he turns around and rests his rear on the lip of the clawfoot tub, giving yuri's leg a squeeze. ) I won't be far from you. I — I don't want us to get into trouble either, but I'll be as close as I can be!
[ yuri still doesn't want to let go, even with the promise of finn staying nearby, but there's a call from the tub that he simply can't resist. so he eventually slides off of finn's back, groaning as he sinks down into the tub still dressed. he sinks down as far into the water as he can go without dunking under completely and he lets out a slow breath. the water is cold, blessedly so, and he curls up a little where he sits.
he lifts his gaze, looking up at finn. ]
Could you...
[ his cheeks are pink, both from the heat and from embarrassment over even asking this. ]
Some of your clothes. I need-- can you leave them on my bed? That towel, too. Please.
Oh. Uh. Sure! Makes sense - good to have your future husband's scent and all.
( finn lightly touches the top of yuri's head, not daring to touch him further for now. )
We'll all let you, um. Well, we'll leave you alone for now but everyone's here if you need anything! ( finn doesn't look as chipper as he sounds, brow still clearly furrowed in concern, sad he can't do much for yuri right now.
he wiggles his fingers and waves goodbye before closing the door behind him, hurrying to get himself cleaned up. dutifully, he passes a few of his worn but-not-too-dirty clothes to a servant and asks him to hang the towel for yuri to have later. it wouldn't do to leave his beddings wet when he probably just wants to be comfortable.
finn sinks into his own bath, though he keeps his brief so he can throw on another set of clothes and pull a chair up to the door separating their suites. )
[ yuri lifts himself toward finn's hand as it touches his head and he lets out the most pitiful whine as he leaves. as soon as he does the maid from earlier flits into the room and busies herself with helping yuri, peeling him the rest of the way out of his clothes and making sure he's clean and as comfortable as he can get.
other things arrive by the time yuri is out of the bath, and not just the clothes that he had requested from finn. there are heat aids, like a heating pad for the cramps, some medication that should do a fair job of knocking him out so he can maybe get some rest. none of this is what he wants, and the maid exits the room as he picks up one of the pieces of clothing left on the bed.
he feels the first trickle of slick as he buries his face in finn's shirt and inhales, groaning quietly. this is why he didn't bother getting dressed after the bath; he's about to be a mess for the next day or two, until the worst of the symptoms subside.
yuri's making his way through the room, snatching up all of the clothes (and towel) that finn left behind when he feels a pull, a little tug toward the door. he moves over toward it and presses an ear to the door, lips pursed together. ]
( after what feels like an eternity, finn perks up at the sound of his voice. the slight change in his tone still worries finn, and he presses his hand against the door, tapping his nails against it. )
I'm here! Do you feel — I guess you don't feel better, but I hope that the bath helped a little bit.
( and softly, ) They keep reminding me to stay away, even if I won't... lose control or anything. I wish I could be there with you, anyway. But you probably need your privacy.
( can't have the union tainted or something or other. finn thinks it's all silly. )

[ yuri smiles faintly, appeased that finn was apparently waiting at the door for him to finish up. it's reassuring, and sweet, and it's mollified his omega for the time being. enough that he has the presence of mind to start working on his nest.
ideally, he'd want to do it somewhere soft like, oh, on his bed, but finn is on the other side of that door and he wants to be close. so he starts everything off with removing every cushion from every chair in the room and putting them in a pile by the door before he starts building the nest around it.
finn can probably just hear the fwump of the cushions, followed by yuri quietly cursing out the articles of clothing as he tries to put them in the right spot. ]

[ things finally settle down as yuri makes himself comfortable, pressed as close to the door as his nest wall will let him. ]

We'll all let you, um. Well, we'll leave you alone for now but everyone's here if you need anything! ( finn doesn't look as chipper as he sounds, brow still clearly furrowed in concern, sad he can't do much for yuri right now.
he wiggles his fingers and waves goodbye before closing the door behind him, hurrying to get himself cleaned up. dutifully, he passes a few of his worn but-not-too-dirty clothes to a servant and asks him to hang the towel for yuri to have later. it wouldn't do to leave his beddings wet when he probably just wants to be comfortable.
finn sinks into his own bath, though he keeps his brief so he can throw on another set of clothes and pull a chair up to the door separating their suites. )

Date: 2024-06-16 12:01 am (UTC)other things arrive by the time yuri is out of the bath, and not just the clothes that he had requested from finn. there are heat aids, like a heating pad for the cramps, some medication that should do a fair job of knocking him out so he can maybe get some rest. none of this is what he wants, and the maid exits the room as he picks up one of the pieces of clothing left on the bed.
he feels the first trickle of slick as he buries his face in finn's shirt and inhales, groaning quietly. this is why he didn't bother getting dressed after the bath; he's about to be a mess for the next day or two, until the worst of the symptoms subside.
yuri's making his way through the room, snatching up all of the clothes (and towel) that finn left behind when he feels a pull, a little tug toward the door. he moves over toward it and presses an ear to the door, lips pursed together. ]

I'm here! Do you feel — I guess you don't feel better, but I hope that the bath helped a little bit.
( and softly, ) They keep reminding me to stay away, even if I won't... lose control or anything. I wish I could be there with you, anyway. But you probably need your privacy.

Date: 2024-06-16 01:12 am (UTC)[ yuri smiles faintly, appeased that finn was apparently waiting at the door for him to finish up. it's reassuring, and sweet, and it's mollified his omega for the time being. enough that he has the presence of mind to start working on his nest.
ideally, he'd want to do it somewhere soft like, oh, on his bed, but finn is on the other side of that door and he wants to be close. so he starts everything off with removing every cushion from every chair in the room and putting them in a pile by the door before he starts building the nest around it.
finn can probably just hear the fwump of the cushions, followed by yuri quietly cursing out the articles of clothing as he tries to put them in the right spot. ]

[ things finally settle down as yuri makes himself comfortable, pressed as close to the door as his nest wall will let him. ]
