[ yuri smiles, feeling so very content right now, even though his future partner is through a door. he gives the door a soft, answering tap before he flops back over onto his side and curls back up around finn's clothes again, grinning into the fabric.
can't wait to add the jammies from last night into the little ball of clothes.
yuri does fall back asleep, the pain staying away long enough for him to do so. it isn't so bad once he's actually knocked out, but there's a twinge that wakes him up eventually. he doesn't really know what time it is, or even if finn's back yet, and he gets up to head into the bathroom for a little while before coming back out and curling up again, his little bowl of water refreshed with a new towel to lightly dab at his skin.
he really, really hopes the meeting went well. and that no one asked too many questions. ]
( finn doesn't return for some time, trying not to look so bewildered as his mother and a few other near-strangers thrust papers for him to sign here and there. it will be a while before his mother eventually relinquishes the full title and house to him and he's honestly grateful for that. it will give both him and yuri the time they need to truly find their bearings.
he's never in a rush for anything, but he is eager to learn how to be a good husband to yuri more than anything else. today is a good start, even though he's sorry to leave yuri alone for several hours.
but then tea time rolls around and finn is all too happy to bound back into his room. normally, he would spend this free time outside, but he decides to open his windows again to let the air in before taking a seat on an ottoman in front of their shared door. )
[ he's opened his own window in the time finn was gone, electing to maybe air out his room for a bit. the heat coming in from outside isn't exactly helpful, but it's better than stifling himself with his own scent.
(hopefully, the wind is blowing the opposite direction of finn's window.)
he's settling back into his nest again when he hears movement on the other side of the door and immediately perks up, turning to face the door again. ]
Good! I was firm, I think! At least I remembered all the stuff we talked about before. We made a little file for you to look over later, when you're up to it.
( and he's very proud of himself! )
Are you up for a snack or teatime with me? ( he might be sounding too hopeful now. finn knows that they still have to keep their distance from each other, at least until this evening if not later. but there's nothing he would like more than to share a little treat with his future husband, especially since he has to be nest-bound for the time being. )
[ yuri smiles faintly and hums as he looks up at his window, struck with an idea. he pushes himself up to his feet and goes to his chest of drawers to pull out a robe and hastily tie it on. ]
I have an idea. Go to your window.
[ he excitedly pulls a chair over (one still with a cushion, since he couldn't remove it) and he places the back of it against the window, kneeling on the seat so he can lean forward and look out without fear of accidentally tumbling out. yuri turns his head and looks toward finn's window, waiting.
he'll look a little more flush than usual, perhaps, but there's a glow to him all the same. something warm and content. ]
[ yuri laughs and gets back up, turning the chair so he can sit in it sideways instead. he rests his arms on the windowsill as he continues to tilt out of it enough that he can see finn, something in his heart calming down just looking at him. ]
It's only been a day since I last saw your face and it already feels like a lifetime ago.
[ he lifts a hand and absently twirls a little bit of hair around his finger, smiling ever so fondly. ]
Yuri, ( finn giggles, covering his mouth, already shy as if he didn't just help him get off 24 hours ago.
and because he's just a little too eager to see him in person and make sure he's doing better, )

[ his eyes go out to the gardens below them, the scent of the fragrant flowers still managing to drift up toward him on the wind. he closes his eyes and breathes in deep for a moment before letting out a slow breath. ]
When the sun's lower in the sky would probably be the best. So things have had a chance to cool off a bit.
[ yuri's head turns at the sound of a knock and he calls ayla in, smiling at the girl who seems relieved to see him up and about. she brings the tea tray and its little snacks (yuri immediately spies the eggs) and he nods at her before she leaves again. yuri picks one of the eggs up and wiggles it out the window. ]
( simultaneously, finn is presented with light teacakes and an assortment of cookies he's been caught taking from the kitchen late at night when his cravings strike. he's grateful and he's very hungry, and his butler is relieved that finn is somewhere that isn't on the floor of his suite.
he's shoved a checkerboard cookie into his mouth when he leans over to see yuri showing him his egg. )
Protein! You need all the energy. The eggs here are really good. They're from the cutest chickens in town.
( because he had to know. and subsequently, he had to see them in person. )
[ yuri laughs and pulls the egg back in to take a solid bite from it, practically melting into his chair just over the simple act of eating something different. his eyes close as he chews, smile still on his face.
he doesn't open them again until he's finished the egg off, leaning back out of the window again with a cup of iced tea in his hand this time. ]
Ah, it was perfect.
[ he rests his chin on his hand and hums, thoughtful. ]
I wanna meet the chickens at some point.

My mother mentioned something about that, actually, going on a local tour when we're married. ( not normally something finn gets excited about, but he feels a lot more comfortable about the prospect of socializing that much with yuri at his side. )

( not that finn has the grace to learn anything more elaborate than a simple dance for their wedding celebration. but he can certainly show an interest in whatever yuri is interested in. the boy has already listened to finn talk at length about his favorite rose bushes outside. )
