[ the reminder of last night heats yuri's cheeks immediately and he ducks his head as a new wave of want washes through him. he shifts slightly in his seat, wrinkling his nose at the sensation, face still burrowed in his arms.

That's right! I don't think we could be blamed for wanting to cool down if today is any hint as to how summer is going to be.
( finn catches it, the subtle change in yuri's expression. he's been trying to be more observant, even if his mind often wanders still. maybe he shouldn't bring it up, maybe yuri's embarrassed about being so vulnerable.
he shovels another cookie into his mouth, washing it down with tea and a happy lick of his lips. )
Are you alright, Yuri? ( finn asks cautiously, not wanting to directly address his grimace. )

Well, needless to say, there's reasons why omegas don't usually wear a whole lot while they're in their heat. Or anything at all, if we can get away with it.
but he's still blushing, even looking at yuri all comfortable in his robe. he rushes to gulp down the rest of his drink so he can free his arms to lean on the guardrail. this has been an unusual courtship to say the least. most people, as far as finn is aware, don't have to jump through such hoops before marriage these days. but the aristocracy live in another world entirely. )
And, I'm not very good at that kind of talk, but ...

I suppose you'll hear that more often when we're married, ( he muses shyly. they still have separate suites, but no one's said married couples can't sleep in the same bed here. and he rather likes the idea of having a comfortable bedmate to cuddle with, especially when the seasons change. especially when it's yuri. )

[ yuri giggles softly and looks down to the gardens again, glad that they're far enough up that their conversation likely won't be overheard by any passers-by. not that he's ashamed of anything he's saying, but-- well. it's private!

his eyes drift back over and he lifts a hand to lightly drum his fingers against the windowsill, tapping out a nonsense rhythm. ]
Finn? I'm really excited about this. Us. The wedding.
Me too. I didn't think I would be! I mean, I still miss where I grew up and everything and I still think this fancy life is a bit much but... I'm happier to be doing it all with you. It makes me feel better.

yuri turns back to his little tray and finishes off the last few morsels and finally settles in with his tea, head tipping to the side to rest lightly against the windowsill. ]
( he has mostly had his fill of their afternoon treats, though he does occasionally reach over to break a piece of cookie off to pop it into his mouth. he realized halfway through the last round of snacking that shoveling entire cookies into his mouth made him very slow to respond. )
You said you studied different types of dances, Yuri? What are your favorite, ah, genres?
( not that finn has the grace to learn anything more elaborate than a simple dance for their wedding celebration. but he can certainly show an interest in whatever yuri is interested in. the boy has already listened to finn talk at length about his favorite rose bushes outside. )
