[ oh. he didn't expect finn to come all the way into the room!! that's a little more embarrassing than he anticipated it being. he hunkers down a bit in the water, as though finn would be able to see him through the door and watch him taking his bath. clearly not, but. ]

[ he calls it back out, grinning absolutely stupidly to himself as he finishes washing up. when yuri finally makes his way back out into his room he feels... better. not great, but better than he ever has during a heat. he has enough presence of mind to make edits to his nest with the new additions and he grabs a blanket before curling up in the center of it and falling asleep.
when he wakes up it's to just a low, throbbing cramping in his gut. it's not the usual intensity, the usual misery, and yuri already knows exactly why. he pushes himself up into a sitting position just as ayla knocks and enters, bowing a bit as she places his breakfast on just the outside of the nest. she doesn't make any judgments, though there is a small quirk to her lips as her eyes land on the pile of finn's clothing that yuri found himself cuddling with all night. he's pink as the girl leaves and he finally turns to lightly knock on the door between their rooms. ]
( he doesn't have the soundest sleep, having woken up once or twice in the middle of the night in case yuri needed him. but finn manages to get a few hours in between those small moments of panic and is still dead to the world when yuri calls for him.
however, something in him, some still-developing tether tugs at him and finn begins to stir, groaning as he rolls onto his back to stare at the ceiling of his canopy bed, having never closed the bed curtains last night. suddenly, he gasps, remembering who he is and where he is, and scrambles to get out of bed, hair sticking up and every which way. he doesn't bother patting it down when he plops himself in front of the door. )
Yuri? ( his voice is deep, still cloudy with sleep. ) Did you call for me?
[ oh. oh whatever that voice is sends a chill right down yuri's spine, it's so nice. and then comes the realization that once they're able to sleep (innocently!!) together, he'll hear that every morning when he wakes up. and isn't that just a cherry on top of an already delicious cake? ]
I'm sorry, were you still sleeping? I didn't mean to wake you, I was just checking to see if you were up.
[ still, he's glad that finn is up, as that means more time together. ]
They've brought my breakfast already. They were probably just waiting to hear movement from your room before they bring you yours. Tell me what you get, because I doubt it'll be a tray mostly full of fruit. And I want to live vicariously through you.
[ listen, he knows it's for the best; the sugar content will keep his blood sugar from dropping too low, they're naturally hydrating, and they'll go easy on his stomach. but man, he could use some bacon. ]

I'm... better. I know I'm not completely out of the woods, mine usually last two or three days, but none of them are ever as bad as the first. Who knows, come this evening I may even feel up for a little stroll.
( finn chuckles, pausing their conversation for a moment to call the staff to request his breakfast be taken up as well so he can spend more time at the door. )
I hate to leave you again later, but I do have to go to some of those last-minute meetings for us, ( finn sighs, already tired of so much responsibility but also not looking forward to leaving yuri behind again. at least he can continue giving him a steady supply of scented clothes for his use. )

[ oh. yuri lifts a hand and rubs lightly at his chest, trying to calm his heart down as it rattles against his ribs. he lifts both hands and buries his face in them, literally giggling (quietly) and kicking his feet as he tries to calm down.
yuri eventually rubs at his face, recognizing the lingering heat as his heat and he huffs out a breath. great, now he's all affected by this. ]
Y-yes. Firm! ( finn calls through the top of his shirt before pulling it over his head and adjusting the sleeves. his outfit is simple, relatively nondescript, lacking any sort of whimsy he tends to wear because he wants to show them all he is someone who can be taken seriously!!
he taps on the door as he plops into the chair to put on a pair of leather shoes. comfortable sandals definitely don't give off the air of meaning business, unfortunately. )

yuri does fall back asleep, the pain staying away long enough for him to do so. it isn't so bad once he's actually knocked out, but there's a twinge that wakes him up eventually. he doesn't really know what time it is, or even if finn's back yet, and he gets up to head into the bathroom for a little while before coming back out and curling up again, his little bowl of water refreshed with a new towel to lightly dab at his skin.
he really, really hopes the meeting went well. and that no one asked too many questions. ]
( finn doesn't return for some time, trying not to look so bewildered as his mother and a few other near-strangers thrust papers for him to sign here and there. it will be a while before his mother eventually relinquishes the full title and house to him and he's honestly grateful for that. it will give both him and yuri the time they need to truly find their bearings.
he's never in a rush for anything, but he is eager to learn how to be a good husband to yuri more than anything else. today is a good start, even though he's sorry to leave yuri alone for several hours.
but then tea time rolls around and finn is all too happy to bound back into his room. normally, he would spend this free time outside, but he decides to open his windows again to let the air in before taking a seat on an ottoman in front of their shared door. )
[ he's opened his own window in the time finn was gone, electing to maybe air out his room for a bit. the heat coming in from outside isn't exactly helpful, but it's better than stifling himself with his own scent.

[ yuri smiles faintly and hums as he looks up at his window, struck with an idea. he pushes himself up to his feet and goes to his chest of drawers to pull out a robe and hastily tie it on. ]

[ he excitedly pulls a chair over (one still with a cushion, since he couldn't remove it) and he places the back of it against the window, kneeling on the seat so he can lean forward and look out without fear of accidentally tumbling out. yuri turns his head and looks toward finn's window, waiting.
he'll look a little more flush than usual, perhaps, but there's a glow to him all the same. something warm and content. ]
( finn's barely gotten off the phone with his butler before immediately perking up at yuri's suggestion. now why didn't he think of that! stumbling a little as he gets up from the chair, he skitters to the window and, gripping the ledge, leans out so he can finally lay eyes on his fiancé.
and oh, yuri still looks as pretty as ever. today, it's a slightly different type of pretty, softer and pinker around the edges. )
[ yuri laughs and gets back up, turning the chair so he can sit in it sideways instead. he rests his arms on the windowsill as he continues to tilt out of it enough that he can see finn, something in his heart calming down just looking at him. ]
It's only been a day since I last saw your face and it already feels like a lifetime ago.
